Last update in October 2015

We did announce, that our Nora had a "stroke" in 2014 and thanks to our Vet she recovered again. It was a long way, but she was doing very well and going for regularly walks over the past 14 months. Together with Arthur and Tyson she enjoyed daily walks of about 3 km. She still loved to play with sticks and enjoyed to show the males, that she is still the "boss". It was funny to watch at times.

She was able to celebrate her 13th birthday last March as you can read further below.

Then one morning in July 2015 she had a second "stroke", from which she had never recovered. A few days after this had happened she did leave us for good.

Almost at the same time Hundemama was struggling with her boy "Tyson" due to an injury took place during one of our bike rides. And also at the same time Simon died, the halfbrother of Tyson, and the beloved dog of Andreas. The hurt was so great at that time, that Hundemama was not able to make any announcement during this difficult time.

We do receive Emails from families at times to ask for help, when questions occur about the health of their dog or other problems. And yes, at times it takes a few days longer to respond to Emails. We try our best to help everyone, but sometimes we also need to have days to become over our sorrow because of the lost of one of our beautiful animals or fight with one of our Barretts to get better.

Nora was one of our special dogs. She was just like her Dad "Gustl". She was so brave and so smart and yet at times so well balanced.

We shall not be ungrateful, because Nora lived a long life for a GSD. When she died she was exactly 13 years and 4 months. She had a fast death and the lived life up till the end.

We might not have a direct offspring of Nora, because Romy, her daughter, died last year, but we do have "Cheyenne", the daughter of Romy and who knows her, knows, that she is a special girl also. Maybe a little "crazy" at times, more like a Clown, but yet very interesting and smart. We believe, that at times she does talk or sing. She is very funny, especially when she is bored, comes with a shoe in her mouth, swings her bud and sings at the same time. Come on, play with me!

The families who are lucky to have an offspring of Nora at this time, should be very happy. We just heard of an incident, which happened to a "Barrett-owner" in the States. A female offspring of Nora out of the D-litter chased away a burglar trying to break into their home.

A few last words to our Nora:

You will always have a special place in our hearts. We will remember you forever! You made many females happy with a

Nora-Baby!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our wonderful Nora! You still look so proud! We wish you HEALTH!

You are lucky

to have such a wonderful "dog husband"

named Tyson on your side

For many years they were the "dog parents" of beautiful

and intelligent puppies

One year ago Nora did get very sick,

but thanks to our Vet she is still with us and is able to celebrate her 13th birthday today! It makes us very happy,

that our 12 year old Queeny, 13 year old Nora and 11 year old Tyson are still with us and live a wonderful life!

Nora was lucky to be able to celebrate her 12th birthday two days ago. She had a kind of stroke three weeks ago and thanks to our Vet she is recovering very well. We hope, that she will be with us for a longer time. We enjoy every day we still have her! Here are two pictures while she is enjoying her birthday bone.

Nora our beloved senior girl

update in April 2011: At the beginning of this year we took Nora out of our breeding program. We like to thank her for the many puppies she gave birth to in the last 6 years and with these puppies brought a lot of happiness to many families all over the world.

Now the time has come for her to just be a family dog, go for hikes, for bike rides and of course join Dagmar while she goes for rides on her horse through the beautiful country. We hope, that Nora will be with us for many more years.
