House and Team Barrett Hiking Day on
August 10, 2024
For the nineteenth time, House and Team Barrett owners
met for the annual hiking day.
We were very happy about the high number of registrations of over 40
participants in total, although not everyone was able to hike, but
everyone was there at lunch.
We were particularly pleased that three families from Switzerland also
found their way to us.
Hundemama• thought it was great that her two sons Jack•
and Jason• were able to take part in this years hiking
day. Our dam Koko didn't leave Jack's side during the entire hike.
Ever since Koko moved into Haus-Barrett three years ago, she has chosen
"Jack" as her friend. Whenever he comes to visit, the two
are inseparable and even "Hundemama" no longer exists for
Koko.
Like every year, Hundemama• gave a short speech and provided
detailed information about the route chosen for today and the process.
She also pointed out to all participants the 20th anniversary coming
up next year, for which she would choose a particularly beautiful route
Next year House-Barrett will look back on 20 years of Barrett
Hiking Day•, these chosen tours always being planned and carried
out with great commitment by Hundemama & Co• in the
past. Unfortunately, even a Hundemama• doesnt get
any younger. That's why this big event next year will be used as an
opportunity to either transfer the annual "Barrett Hiking Day"
to a younger family in the future or to continue to carry it out still
by the "Barretts", but not every year. We are open to all
suggestions in this regard and will discuss the details with the participants
next year.
Now looking at this years hike, it was a wonderful
adventure
This tour led us through an extremely
beautiful forest area in Rhineland-Pfalz.
Although it was very warm and sunny that day, the participants didn't
feel much of the heat, because our tour took us through a cool area
of forest
Lunch was taken around 1 p.m. in a beautifully landscaped guesthouse
called Forsthaus Silbertal•. Our four-legged friends were
warmly welcomed there. There was also delicious food.
After lunch, families gathered outside the guesthouse to take the annual
Barrett picture.•
The way back took the Barretts along a narrow forest path in an idyllic
location next to a stream. It was cool and pleasant and the dogs had
the opportunity to cool off in the stream the entire way back. About
2 km from the starting point there was a Lodge• where the
hikers stopped for a cup of coffee and a piece of delicious cake. Nobody
wanted to leave this location at all, it was so beautiful there.
The group returned to the starting point at around 5:30 p.m. Some families
who came from very far away then drove back home, others went with
Hundemama" to a beer garden to end this beautiful day with
dinner together. Unfortunately Arthur had to drive
back home to take care of the other Barretts and the horses
As in previous years, Arthur captured our hiking day with many pictures.
Some have already been published on Facebook thanks to our Jennifer.
Like every year, more pictures have now been published below.
At this point we would like to thank the Heigel family, who gave us
some tour suggestions for our hiking day this year. We then just had
to work these tours out or ride them out to make sure that the tour
wasn't too short or too long.
We wish all House and Team Barrett owners all the best for the future,
especially health, and hope that we will see each other again next
year for our upcoming anniversary.
The date of the anniversary hiking day in 2025 and the tour will be
announced at the beginning of the year, so everyone can plan well ahead

Now all that's missing is the campfire. But it was
too hot for that; from left to right: Champ, Vito, Koko, Yazoo and
